Meet Bozlee!!

Arrival date: March 13th, 2007

Life just hasn't been the same since my sweet Louisie passed away last August. Much has changed in my life since then... My best friend has moved in with me, bringing her two young pugs, but I couldn't adjust to the fact I had only 4 pugs. Something was missing in my life, even with the love that was showered on my from my remaining four pug 'kids'.

I knew my next pug would be a rescue, but I didn't know how lucky I'd be to get a sweet one-eyed, hairless pug from Southern California- San Diego Pug Rescue to be exact.

Bozlee was scheduled for euthanasia. Due to the help of some wonderful friends on a pug message board I belong to, Bozlee was rescued!! He then made a safe and happy journey from San Diego to Anchorage!! I am very thankful to have him. He is one special pug!

Bozlee is now on special medications to help his hairless condition. Allergies and a possible thyroid problem will be set straight. No matter what happens, he is beautiful to me.

Update: March 20th, 2007

Bozlee's been here a week today, and it seems like he's been here forever! I can't believe how the entire gang took him in and showed him that he can be all the fawn pug he can be!!

All of the pugs, both Linda's and mine, have interacted with Bozlee in a positive manner, none of shunned or ignored him, and he is blossoming under this attention. I think he is already forgetting his earlier days, and he's bounced back from the long trip (although... since his 'courier' works for Alaska Airlines, he probably had a first-class seat with champagne & roasted chicken for lunch). *LOL*

I honestly can't believe how lucky I am to have been able to adopt such a sweet, loving, playful, full-of-life pug. How horrible it would have been to snuff out such a bright and lively 'candle'.

Thank goodness the right people were in the right places to save this special pug boy. The gods were smiling on Bozlee that day.

All seven:
From left to right:
Bozlee, Odie Mo, Thelma, Odie Gus Gus, Diamond, Beau and Gumpy (in front).
Here is Bozlee in his crate as he travels from the surrender point in California to his foster home. The only thing that came with him was his favorite toy bear. Bozlee with a girl from his foster family, both dressed up for St. Patrick's Day.
The wonderful rescue gal who saved him from euthanasia also brought him from his foster home to the transfer point on the day of his trip to Alaska. Bozlee meets Otis, who is owned by the kind lady who winged her way to Alaska to bring him to me.

She traveled to Alaska and then back to Southern California in less than two days!

Tuesday morning:

Bozlee is in Alaska!

This wonderful 'courier of pugs' came over to our place to meet the Alaska Pug Gang. She is giving Thelma a hug. In the right-hand picture, Linda is giving Bozlee a hug as the gang gathers 'round. Diamond, Thelma & Bozlee meet. Bozlee, Gumpy in front, Beau behind.
Bozlee discovers the delights of cow hooves and bullysticks. Poor Bozlee's bare bottom. His hair will come back as times goes on. He's a very sleepy pug boy after his travels. One eye, or not, he is beautiful.
Bozlee is on special food, so he eats in the back room with the younger crowd. The stodgy older gang eat slowly, so the two sets have to be separated. He is contentedly napping with his toy bear. Cuddled on the bed with some of the Alaska Pug Gang, his head is on Beau. I call this picture:
 "No Two Butts About It."

Bozlee on the left, Beau on the right.

Bozlee and Beau patiently waiting dinner. Odie Mo & Boz just might become best buddies. They play together all the time! Bozlee and Odie Gus Gus enjoying the sun. He's definitely a sun worshipper.
I managed to get all seven on the bed! What a cute body, even without much hair. Bozlee sleeps on Thelma. Is this the happiest face you ever saw or what??
